Tables, or individual pages?119:33, 29 September 2012

A question.

Greetings, I'm new here and new in general to contributing to wikis. I saw that there is a 'to-do list' and one of those items is to expand the events information. I do have a few things I would like to add to the page and will likely have more as I play through the game, but I'm worried it's more an opinion in certain cases than actual information (for example, the fuel station being better value for money than the stores, yet likely not worth holding out for). Would that be okay, or should I put them in the discussion page first?

I would also be interested in adding some ship information and strategies (I'm no pro or anything, but at least a few basic ideas do occur to me after trying a new ship out a couple of times). Would that be okay? It's pretty much just opinion, with no real hard facts aside from what I glean from the playthroughs.

Taking in account the current state of the ships' pages, all strategies would be more than welcome (IMHO) - after all we can edit them later. I'm not sure about the same of the events page, perhaps someone else can answer that question for you. Welcome to the wiki!

Thank you for the swift response. I also noticed that there is a strategies section that looks to be where either the general strategies or links to them should go. Would it be preferable to have a separate page for a specific ship strategy (with a link from both the ships page and the strategies page) or would it be best to put it in the strategies section?

Either way, I'll start typing something up and will hopefully have something to add later this evening. :)

Can't say myself. I suggest you just put specific ship strategies directly on the ship's page for now. If the conseus is that each strategy should have its own page, they'll be later moved. But we'll at least have something to start with then.

Well, that's the first one up. It's my first time doing a guide for anything, so any constructive criticism on the format and information would be appreciated.

I know it's a guide for a ship most people won't really use often, but I figured I'd try a difficult one off the bat. I plan on doing something similar for the Kestrel tonight, if I get the chance.

You might have missed this, but every ship has its own page. If you have the time, move the strategy guide from Ships to The Vortex, and this way, it'll look nicer for everyone. Also, no need to use the br tag, wiki markup sorts it out, just leave an empty line in between.

Tables, or individual pages?

As the wiki expands, it seems like there is more and more information about each specific item (for example, specific ships in Ships have tons of specific information, such as achievements, crews, strategies, etc. Should these be kept on generic pages like Ships, or devolved into individual pages, such as The Kestrel and Red-Tail? Any thoughts?

It seems individual pages won out, even if no one commented. For the record, I favor individual pages for any distinct items, as it leaves more room for expanded information, and keeps general pages (like the full list of ships) a little less cluttered.
